REVIEW – ROUND 14

Cranbourne is only percentage inside the top five with only two rounds remaining, with the final two spots in the finals still well and truly up for grabs.

ROC, Cranbourne and Doveton are only separated by two points from fourth to sixth and a small amount of percentage, setting up a potentially epic run towards the pointy end of the season.

The Kangaroos were one of the big winners to come out of the round, defeating Pakenham 45-34 at Toomuc Reserve.

Off the back of more dominance to Sara Villiers (26 goals), the Kangaroos were a class above the young Lions, surging into fourth position on the table as they firm towards a finals appearance.

Down at Holm Park Recreation Reserve, second placed Beaconsfield defeated Doveton 56-36, knocking the Doves out of the five and into sixth spot on the ladder.

With a big first quarter, with Danni Cameron and Ash Gill dominating both ends of the court, the Eagles gave the Doves little space and were clinical in attack.

Tanya Mijovic was on song with 30 goals, while Bianca Sanzaro continued her fine season going with a dynamic 26 goal display.

Narre Warren, meanwhile, absolutely thumped Cranbourne to the tune of 31 goals at Kalora Park, 64-33.

The Magpies have all but sealed third spot on the ladder with the tremendous display, set up an overall solid team performance.

The home side gave the Eagles little chance of being in the contest, surging out to a 18-5 lead at quarter time, and despite some nice fight and winning the second quarter, the Magpies powered away to dominate the final half.

For the finals bound Magpies, Jemma Osborne, Chloe Phillips and Erin Clark were eye-catching in the big win.

And Tooradin-Dalmore just keeps on winning, this time against bottom side Berwick down by the Westernport, 78-30.

In Round 15 action this weekend, there are some absolute blockbusters to look forward to. Down at Holm Park, a top two battle between Beaconsfield and Tooradin-Dalmore will take place, in what could be a grand final preview.

Elsewhere, Pakenham hosts Cranbourne, where the Lions will look to disrupt the Eagles’ run towards a final spot, while ROC and Narre Warren will do battle in a critical game for the Kangaroos at Starling Road.

In the final match of the round, Doveton has a perfect chance to surge back into the top five when they host Berwick at AJ Robinson Reserve.
