House ransacked, car stolen and torched

By Kyra Gillespie

Police are investigating a devastating burglary at a Pakenham home, where an estimated $10,000-worth of property was stolen.

Detectives believe the unknown offenders gained access to the Union Avenue home via a window on the evening of Saturday 6 October, where they ransacked the house – searching draws, cupboards and bedrooms – and made off with around $10,000-worth of televisions, electronic equipment and jewellery.

The burglars also located the keys to a 2010 BMW parked in the driveway, which police later found torched in a truck parking area near Dore Road, off the Princes Highway.

No arrests have yet been made.
