Even more people in the Pakenham area will be able to enjoy the local pool thanks to $105,000 in funding from the Andrews Labor Government.

Minister for Sport John Eren this week announced the Pakenham pool will receive an accessibility upgrade, including new ramps, thanks to the State Government’s Community Support Fund.

The fund is helping local venues like Pakenham Pool inject new life in to their facilities. This includes the installation of accessible sport and active recreation facilities to give locals of all abilities the chance to get more active.

Minister Eren acknowledged Cardinia Shire Council for its commitment to the project.

“This funding will support the growing number of people in Pakenham keen to get involved in local sport and recreation,” Minister Eren said.

“It’s a great example of how we’re making sport and recreation more accessible, welcoming and inclusive for all Victorians.”

Across Victoria the State Government has invested more than $420 million in community sport and recreation facilities to get more people moving and help bring communities together.

“This $105,000 in funding is a great announcement for the Pakenham community as it will give locals of all abilities a chance to be active,” Member for Eastern Victoria Daniel Mulino said.

“Pakenham is a growing area, and it’s important the community has the facilities it needs to keep growing.”
