Officer Primary School’s inaugural Motor Show was a roaring success, with crowds flocking to get a glimpse of the classic cars on show.

Taking place on Saturday 10 November, school Principal Lynne Brenner was blown away by the outcome on the day.

“It was a very successful day; we had over 70 classic cars come on the day from all over the place,” Ms Brenner said.

“The weather was beautiful; we had a rock band, a dance instructor demonstrating the moves and lots of people dressed in rockabilly-style outfits.

“While we haven’t got a finalised figure we think we raised around $6000, which will go towards refurbishing some of our classrooms.”

The event was attended by students, parents and the wider community, with some classic car drivers coming from as far as the western suburbs.

The ‘Kids Zone’ provided endless entertainment for the little ones, with face painting, crazy hair, a fake boxing ring and more.

The day was such a success that the school is considering making it an annual event.

“We took a big gamble putting it on because we had no idea how something like that would go.

“We’re quite a little school compared to the big ones around us, and I think that’s our point of difference – we have a community.

“It might be something that we’ll look at doing annually.”
