Pakenham have some new state champions, after a team of 13 girls from Pakenham-based Aria Calisthenics Club won their state title last month.

Aria’s Subbies team, which is made up of girls aged between 7 and 10, travelled to the Ulumbarra Theatre in Bendigo to compete in the Division 9 Section of the Victorian State Championships in early October.

“It was fantastic to see the girls’ hard work and their support for each other pay off with a win at their state championships,” Aria Subbies Coach Jayde Frenken said.

The win capped a highly successful year for the club, which is only four years old.

The club’s Juniors team, which is for under 13 year old girls, came runners up at their state titles, and won three of the four competitions they entered during the year.

“It’s been a wonderful year competition wise, but we are also so proud of the teamwork displayed and the individual growth of each girl in all our teams. We are an all-inclusive club so we are happy when we see our team members rising to challenges and building confidence and friendship as well as skills,” Jayde said.

Aria Calisthenics offers classes for pre-schoolers right through to adults.
