The King of Thieves

By Kyra Gillespie

Police have uncovered a veritable Aladdin’s Cave of stolen goods.

It took four truckloads to remove the stolen booty from a Narre Warren home.

Police believe the wide variety of household goods were taken from homes under construction throughout the Casey and Cardinia area.

A 29-year-old man has been remanded in custody after police raided his Narre Warren home.

A search warrant executed at the home uncovered hundreds of thousands of dollars-worth of stolen items, which included bathtubs, dishwashers, ceiling fans, air conditioners, coffee machines, microwaves, ducted vacuum systems, building materials, warming trays and tap fittings.

Police believe the goods were stolen from a number of homes under construction or in the lockup stage in Casey, Clyde, Narre Warren and Officer over the last 12 months.

A removal van was required to extract all the items from the house.

Police now wish to identify the rightful owners of the goods, of which they have a full list for.

Brands include Liebherr, Toshiba, Samsung, York, Miele, Braemar, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Aussie Vac, Bosh, Westinghouse and Ariston.

The man, who police believe worked in the construction industry, has been remanded in custody until 19 December.

Anyone who recognises any of the stolen items is asked to contact Senior Detective Colin Beard on 5945 2500.
