Local Bendigo Bank branches are taking applicants for their 2019 Community Bank Scholarship Program.

The scholarship program is being run through five branches located within the Cardinia Shire and City of Casey, which are Lang Lang and Pearcedale Community Bank branches, Kooweerup, Narre Warren South and Tooradin branches.

“Whether you work in a local business or are a part of a local sporting group in these communities this information may be suitable for a young person you’re connected to,” Bendigo Bank’s Laura McBride, Executive Officer of Our Community Company Ltd said.

“Our Scholarship Program aims to support young people within the community to extend their education through TAFE and/or University.

“We are committed to supporting the future of our communities and know that through investment in the people capital and education of our young people the great rewards will come for our communities.”

There are five scholarships available (TAFE: $5,000 over one year or University: $10,000 over two years) and applications close 29 January.

Criteria includes:

• Recent school leaver

• Resident or attended school in any one of the following postcodes: 3981, 3984, 3980, 3805 or 3912

• Looking to attend University or TAFE in 2019

• Demonstrate community leadership, resilience and commitment to excellent tertiary education outcomes

• Meeting the Criteria of the attached Information Sheet

All applications are done online; applicants will need to search for the relevant scholarship to their residency or school community.

If an applicant is eligible for more than one branch scholarship they can apply for multiple, but will only be successful in one.
