Kooweerup Road fire declared safe

Traffic is moving again after a fire broke out on Healesville-Kooweerup Road just after 3.30pm today.

Five firetrucks responded to the grass and scrub fire, which burnt around one acre of land before being declared safe at 4pm.

Both lanes had to be closed and police were on scene for traffic control.

Both were opened up after 4.15pm.

A CFA spokesperson said they are still trying to determine the cause of the fire, which broke out near the Greenhills Road, Watson Road area.

Member from the Pakenham, Nar Nar Goon and Toomuc brigades responded.
