Pile-up at O’Neil Road

The scene of the collision.

A five car pile-up at the treacherous O’Neil Road intersection has brought the Princes Highway to a grinding halt during peak hour.

Paramedics were called to the Beaconsfield intersection at about 4pm amid reports of a road trap.

Several cars had collided just metres from the O’Neil Road intersection, completely preventing traffic from passing through.

Highway Patrol attended and the traffic has since been reduced to one lane.

It comes just weeks after two young boys, William and Benson, narrowly escaped serious injury.

Those using the Princes Highway are urged to try and avoid the area.

The O’Neil Road intersection is among the eight which will be completely redesigned under an $18 million spend by the Federal Government, set to be allocated in this year’s budget.
