Pakenham bus stop assault

Investigators have released an image and CCTV footage to identify a person of interest who may be able to assist with their enquiries. 190383_01

Transit police are appealing for public assistance after a man was assaulted at a bus shelter on Railway Avenue, Pakenham on Sunday 1 February 2019.

Police have been told an on-duty bus driver of the 929 bus to Army Road was approached by another man while standing at the bus shelter.

A dispute took place and the unknown man has punched the bus driver on the chin.

The offender fled the scene towards Pakenham railway station and was gone before police arrived.

The offender is perceived to be of Pacific Islander appearance, with short dark hair, wearing a red long sleeved t-shirt with blue sleeves, black shorts, white sandals and was carrying a black shoulder bag.

Investigators have released an image and CCTV footage to identify a person of interest who may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Investigators are keen to speak to any witnesses that may have been present at the time of the assault.
