Pakenham Police are investigating an assault that occurred in Pakenham December 18.
Police allege that at about 9:15pm the victim was in an undercover area of Bourke Park, off Railway Avenue where he has been approached by an unknown man.
The victim and man have shaken hands before the man punched the victim and then swung a white plastic bag containing an unknown item, hitting the victim in the face.
The victim fell to the ground and the man continued to punch him.
The unknown man is described as having a Caucasian appearance, about six feet tall, mid 30s, crew cut hairstyle, wearing brown pants and a black and grey jumper.
