The Monash Freeway is currently closed to outbound traffic following a serious collision just before Springvale Road this morning.
Emergency services were called to the outbound lanes of the freeway at about 8.20am. A man is in a critical condition with numerous injuries and is being transported to the Alfred Hospital.
Diversions have been set up at Blackburn Road. Motorists should exit the outbound lanes of the Monash Freeway at their earliest opportunity and use the Princes Highway to avoid the closure.
Emergency services are currently controlling the scene and will reopen the road as soon as it is safe to do so.
