Community members, housing providers, volunteer services and property development sector representatives are encouraged to apply for membership on a new social and affordable housing partnership group.

The group will work alongside Cardinia Shire Council and will participate in the implementation of council’s Social and Affordable Housing Strategy and Action Plan (2018-2025).

13 members including appointed councillor(s) and council staff, as well as representatives from the community, private and public sectors will form the group.

Cardinia Shire Mayor Councillor Graeme Moore said that as Cardinia Shire continues to grow rapidly, the local population and number of houses is expected to double by 2031.

“Council’s Social and Affordable Housing Strategy and Action Plan and partnership group aims to ensure that our shire includes diverse, high quality, sustainable and affordable housing that is responsive to the needs of a growing and diverse community,” Mr Moore said.

“I’d encourage community members with an interest in social and affordable housing to submit an expression of interest to join the social and affordable housing partnership group.”

Expressions of interests to join the group will open Tuesday 21 May and close Tuesday 11 June at 12pm.
