Cardinia Shire Council are wanting to build, support and expand the local arts so the community can access a wide range of performances, exhibitions and activities.

In doing so, they are seeking community input into the development of a new Arts and Culture Strategy.

The consultation will ask residents their thoughts on three key points including what they’d like to learn to do with art and technology, what tools and technologies are needed to make their art and what residents would like to experience within the arts.

Cardinia Shire Mayor Councillor Graeme Moore said that the development of the new strategy provides the perfect opportunity for the community to help shape the direction of arts in the area.

“By immersing our communities in arts and culture, we become a place where creative people and organisations want to live, work and play. Additionally, the Cardinia Cultural Centre’s function business will thrive and our creative programs will flourish,” Cr Moore said.

“If you’re passionate about the arts and culture, this is your chance to share your ideas on how we can build a bright future for the arts in Cardinia Shire.”
