Wild weather warned for Victoria

By Mitchell Clarke

Motorists are urged to slow down and take extra caution in this wet and windy weather.

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued severe weather warnings across the state including for people in Melbourne and Traralgon.

The advice for drivers is to leave extra space between them and the car in front, as braking distances double in wet conditions.

Motorists should turn their headlights on and be on the lookout for pedestrians, cyclists and motorbikes as visibility decreases.

If conditions become too dangerous, pull over safely and wait for the rain to pass.
