Motorists heading inbound are being urged to find an alternative route with the Monash Freeway closed at Forster Road following a serious collision.

Drivers should exit the Monash as soon as possible and use the Princes Highway and Dandenong Road as an alternative if travelling into the city.

Traffic is being diverted onto the Forster Road exit ramp but motorists can re-enter via the Forster Road inbound entry ramp.

VicRoads says there is heavy inbound traffic pushing back before Eastlink.

It’s believed two trucks and at least five cars were involved in the collision but remarkably, no one died as a result.

Three people received minor injuries and were transported to hospital.
