Students at Lang Lang Primary School and Kooweerup Primary School are a step closer to receiving their much needed facilities, with an architect appointed to design the projects.

The upgrade will see Lang Lang Primary School’s tired old classrooms and facilities transformed into modern learning environments while Kooweerup Primary School are set to receive a new gymnasium.

Member for Bass Jordan Crugnale announced on Friday 16 August that Ardent Achitects Pty Ltd will design the projects after $153,800 was allocated to Lang Lang and $250,000 allocated to Kooweerup in the 18/19 State Labor budget to start the process.

Overall, the projects costing $1.5 million and $2.5 million respectively were part of an election commitment where the state government invested $5.6 billion to deliver more than 1400 school upgrades.

“We’re making sure that our schools are of quality, modern and fit for purpose so that every child is given every chance to succeed,” Ms Crugnale said.

“Lang Lang and Kooweerup families are a step closer to getting great local school facilities their kids need to thrive.”

A total of 100 new schools are expected to open by 2026, with the state government appointing builders to start delivering 11 schools across the state, set to open in 2020 while another 14 schools will open in 2021.
