Despite the weather not supplying any sunshine on the day, just on 400 visitors came to Gembrook to enjoy the Everything Patchwork and Quilting (EPQ) event.

The Gembrook Community Centre hall was transformed into a colourful display on Saturday 7 September, with the display inspiring and tempting visitors as 30 traders sold a selection of all things quilting, patchwork and crafts.

Guest Quilter Carolyn Murfitt of Freebird Quilting Designs had some of her beautiful quilts on show, with some having been previously displayed overseas.

Taking out first prize in the raffle was a lady who had travelled over two hours to attend, all the way from Stratford.EPQ’s mission is to raise money for a good cause, with all profits from this event being given to the Gembrook CFA.

First established in 2014, they hope to promote the special aspects of Gembrook and the local businesses by bringing patchwork and quilting enthusiasts to the township.

The seventh Everything Patchwork and Quilting event will be held on Saturday 5 September 2020.
