A 22-year-old woman has been airlifted to The Alfred hospital following a horse riding accident in Pakenham South.

Emergency services were called to a property on Five Mile Road just before 9am on Wednesday 13 November.

An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman confirmed paramedics were treating one person with lower body injuries and said the air ambulance had been dispatched to the property.

A Victoria Police spokesman confirmed a horse had landed on the woman who sustained pelvic injuries as a result.

The woman’s mother told the Gazette she was an experienced rider and had been riding horses since she was two-years-old.

“She’s such a beautiful, kind, talented and hardworking girl whose love and dedication to horses goes beyond words,” her mother said.

Authorities were unable to provide an update on the patient’s condition.
