Kelvin Rees remains in a critical condition following an alleged hit and run incident in Pakenham on Tuesday 12 November.

The 79-year-old was struck by a cyclist in the car park of Main Street Plaza about 8.20am.

More than $2000 has been raised on GoFundMe to support Mr Rees and his family through this difficult time.

“He and his family have already been through so much and the last man/family on earth left that would deserve anything like this,” the GoFundMe description reads.

“Anything to assist helping this family make things just the smallest bit easier in such a hard time – be it for medical bills, transport back and forth to be by his side, rehabilitation and even just everyday living expenses.”

Cardinia Crime Investigation Unit detectives continue to investigate, after a 24-year-old Morwell man was charged with reckless conduct endangering serious injury on Wednesday 13 November.

Investigators appeal to anyone in the area at the time of the incident who haven’t yet spoken to police to come forward.

Anyone with information is urged to contact detectives at the Cardinia Crime Investigation Unit on 5945 2507.
