Firearms investigation hits southeast

A number of properties in the south eastern suburbs have been raided as part of a firearms investigation.

Detectives from the Echo Taskforce executed warrants in Nar Nar Goon, Clyde North, Narre Warren and Tetoora Road, south of Lardner, on Thursday 16 January.

Two men were arrested following an investigation into a number of alleged firearms offences, linked to the Finks Outlaw Motor Cycle Gang.

It’s understood the investigation included footage of one of the arrested men allegedly discharging an assault rifle.

A 29-year-old Clyde North man was interviewed by police and will be charged with ‘prohibited person use firearm’ and ‘prohibited person possess firearm’.

He was expected to front the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court the same day.

A 32-year-old man from the Tetoora Road address was also arrested, after police seized seven firearms and ammunition from the property.

He was interviewed by police and is expected to be charged on summons with firearms offences.
