Police have raided a house on the corner of Corymbia Promenade and Greenbank Drive in Pakenham, seizing 84 cannabis plants.

At least six police vehicles descended on the property at about 9.45am on Tuesday 3 March, with neighbours reporting seeing police in plain clothes searching the house and backyard.

In a statement, police said the search warrants followed months of preparation and “intel gathering” regarding a commercial illegal cannabis crop.

The Gazette understands the house was a rental and has been told the previous family moved out last year.

Meanwhile, police also searched a property in Clyde North, seizing 125 cannabis plants.

“Make no mistake, this is a seriously large amount of an illegal drug, the money and people involved are linked to further crimes,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.

“We will be working hard to execute more search warrants.”
