In April the team at Casey Cardinia Libraries asked the community to let their imaginations run wild by launching a writing competition.

With the theme ‘Day in the Life’, the writing competition received more than 190 entries across poetry and short story categories.

Two of the best from each category were selected by Casey Cardinia Libraries and published in the Gazette’s People’s Choice.

From that, more than 250 people voted for their favourite short stories and poems.

“We were absolutely delighted with the number and quality of entries,” Casey Cardinia Libraries CEO Chris Buckingham said.

“Creativity is alive and well in our community.

“A big shout out to the Gazette who helped us share these wonderful stories with the community.”
