Crews extinguish fierce garage fire

Volunteer firefighters were called to an address in Pakenham following reports of a garage fire on Sunday 2 August.

While on route, crew from Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) sighted smoke coming from the property on Barrington Drive about 2.35pm.

Upon arrival, firefighters worked quickly to contain the blaze and the incident was declared under control within 20 minutes.

One person was treated for smoke inhalation on scene.

Six Country Fire Authority (CFA) crews assisted FRV at the incident.

The vehicles included CFA trucks from Pakenham, Nar Nar Goon, Officer, a gas support vehicle from Officer, and cars from Cardinia Group and Pakenham.
