Positive case at Reject Shop

A staff member at The Reject Shop Officer, which is located in Arena Shopping Centre (pictured), has tested positive for coronavirus.

A staff member at the Reject Shop in Officer has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The announcement was made on the Arena Shopping Centre Facebook page on the afternoon of Tuesday 4 August.

According to the statement, the staff member last worked on Saturday 26 July, and they are not believed to have transmitted the virus to anyone else at the shopping centre.

“Please be assured that the wellbeing of our community continues to be our top priority,” the statement read.

“We are working closely with The Reject Shop, other retailers in the centre and the Department of Health taking all necessary steps to ensure ongoing safety in the centre.”

The Reject Shop closed early on Tuesday for a deep clean.

As of 4 August, there was a total of 52 active cases in Cardinia Shire, 310 in Casey and 129 in Yarra Ranges.

Anyone who has been at the centre since Sunday 26 July and becomes unwell in the next two weeks should contact the Department of Health hotline on 1800 020 080 or visit the Coronavirus (COVID-19) information website at health.gov.au, and get tested for the virus.
