Grant applications are now open for South East Water’s annual Community Grants program.

The 2020 Community Grants program is now taking applications from community or charitable organisations for grants between $500 and $10,000 to support the health and liveability of residents in the south east.

The program is open to community members who support the health and liveability of Port Phillip and Western Port bays or support the community in the areas of affordability, environment, health and liveability and water security and literacy.

“We’re thrilled to be running our Community Grants program again in 2020,” South East Water customer and community engagement general manager Mikala Hehir said.

“We’ve expanded the eligibility of the program this year to include more areas of community support for projects across our entire service region.

“There are so many amazing community groups in our region who are working hard to support our bays, environment and community, and we want to help them continue this great work – especially in what has been a tough year for many.”

Last year, the organisation awarded grants to 11 community groups to support a range of community initiatives such as beach and bay education programs, equipment for life saving clubs, revegetation and garden classroom projects, a fun run event and a litter stopper app.

Applications close at 5pm on Wednesday 14 October.
