Casey Cardinia Libraries’ Binge Bags program has been a roaring success among the local community.

The advanced online program involves a library staff member selecting items on the member’s behalf, either based on the interests they specify when ordering or a complete surprise.

A surprise box of books is then delivered to the member’s front door step.

Casey Cardinia Libraries CEO Chris Buckingham said the Binge Bags have provided a “saviour” for readers right across the region.

“They loved the idea that they could devour a pile of books without feeling guilty,” he said.

“Our team have loved packing binge bags for our customers. It has been a privilege to be able to draw on traditional librarianship and help match books to people.

“The positive feedback from community has been incredible.”
