Westfield Fountain Gate was identified as a “high risk” coronavirus location by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) on Wednesday 14 October.

A confirmed case who reportedly works at the Fountain Gate Dry Cleaners, located inside the Narre Warren shopping centre, was onsite on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 October.

The infected employee was said to have been in-store and used a public toilet between 10am and 1pm on Thursday, before returning back to work at the shop between 8am and 11am on the Friday.

DHHS state that Fountain Gate does not pose an active risk to the community, however shoppers or staff who were at the site at that time should monitor symptoms.

Anyone who develops Covid-19 symptoms should get tested immediately and isolate until a negative result is received.

There were seven active cases of Covid-19 in the City of Casey as of 14 October. No active cases of the virus have been recorded in the Cardinia Shire since 28 September.

Latest data from DHHS on Thursday 15 October revealed six new cases of Covid-19 were detected statewide overnight.
