In celebration of primary school students returning to onsite learning, John Henry Primary School held its much anticipated inaugural colour run on Friday 16 October.

Traditionally held earlier on in the year, the school’s major fundraising event was a great way to welcome the students back to school.

In total, the school community raised close to $11,000, which has been used for new seating around the oval and further additions to the beautiful line marking around the school grounds.

As children completed laps of the oval and navigated obstacle courses to test their kills of evasion, staff members sprayed them with colourful fluorescent powder and water.

“The smiles, screams and laughter coming from students during this event were priceless,” John Henry Primary School assistant principal and event organiser Mrs Broekhoff said.

“We would have loved to have had our amazing parent community involved and onsite but in the current climate we had to settle for just the students in a Covid-19 safe manner attempting the course.”
