A 42-year-old woman is dead and a 15-year-old boy is in hospital under police guard after a suspected family violence incident in Narre Warren South.

Homicide Squad detectives are now piecing together what led to an alleged stabbing incident inside a house on Springvalley Way, near the Narre Warren South P-12 College.

Emergency services were called to the scene at about 1pm on Monday 30 November following reports that multiple people had been seriously injured.

A 42-year-old woman, a 70-year-old woman, a three-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy were all found injured.

Tragically, the middle-aged woman, who was flown to The Alfred hospital in a critical condition with upper body injuries, died.

The elderly woman and the young child were both transported to hospital with serious upper body injuries, an Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said.

A police statement later confirmed a 15-year-old boy was arrested at the scene. He remains under police guard in hospital, after having also sustained serious injuries.

The exact nature of the incident is not yet clear and Homicide Squad detectives are investigating.

It’s understood those involved were from the same family.

Police have also confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
