Have you ever seen Lang Lang quite like this?
A Pakenham photographer is taking his passion to new heights with these stunning images of Lang Lang’s shoreline from above.
Reg Casey, who has always had a love of aviation and flying, took these birds’ eye images with his drone camera – and has been pleasantly surprised with the support he’s received online.
“I’ve always loved aviation and photography, and I thought it might be cool to put them both together,” Mr Casey said.
A cabinet maker by trade, Mr Casey began taking photos with a small drone just for fun, but his hobby has now turned into a passion project, taking him all over Cardinia in his search for the perfect shot.
“It’s good seeing the world from above.
When I was younger I used to fly real planes – but it’s a bit expensive,” Mr Casey said.
“So I started out with a basic drone, and I’ve just recently bought a more expensive one, and it’s just gone from there.”
These particular images were taken in a special little spot that Mr Casey regularly visits, just off Jetty Road in Lang Lang, near the caravan park.
“I go down there quite a bit. I like to take my son down there too and go for a walk,” he said.
When Mr Casey took his drone, a DJI Mavic Air 2, down with him one day, he was able to see the area from a new perspective, and was able to take some stunning photographs in the process.
“At the end of the day, I do it because I love doing it,” Mr Casey said.
“But if I can get some work though it, my dream would be to purely do photography.”
Mr Casey already has a full drone licence and plenty of experience, and hopes to get his photography business up and ‘flying’ in no time.
