$1 million win for Pakenham man

A Pakenham man is $1 million richer after winning Monday’s Lotto.

He held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw 4100 on Monday 2 August.

Each division one winning entry scored $1 million.

The jubilant man plans to use his prize to pay off his mortgage, do some renovations, buy himself a boat and go on a few holidays.

His winning 50-game QuickPick entry was purchased online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.

When an official from The Lott called the winner this morning, he was completely oblivious he’d become an overnight millionaire thanks to his division one win.

“What!? I had no idea! Well, isn’t this a lovely surprise,” he laughed after a moment of silence.

“This is unbelievable! What!? I just can’t believe it. I feel like jumping up and down and screaming right now.“

The man had been in and out of work and doing it tough lately, so said the timing couldn’t be better.

“This changes everything for me! It’s the best news I could have hoped for,“ he said.

“I can’t wait to tell my family and go out for a nice lunch to celebrate! They are going to be so excited.”

When asked how he planned to enjoy life as a millionaire, the stoked bloke said it made things a lot easier.

“I can’t explain how much this means to me. I recently was considering making some tough changes in my life, but now, that doesn’t have to happen!” he laughed.

“So I’ll pay the mortgage, and I’d really like to do a few things around the house, make some upgrades.

“No doubt there will be a few holidays, and I might even get myself a boat for some big fishing trips!”
