Man charged over Pakenham hit and run

A 32-year-old man has been charged by police following a hit and run collision in Pakenham on Friday 10 September.

It is alleged that the 23-year-old victim was struck by a vehicle as he was walking on the footpath along the Princes Highway around 6.40am on Friday.

The vehicle did not stop to render assistance.

Detectives from the Cardinia Crime Investigation Unit arrested the driver a short time later.

He was charged with a number of offences, including reckless conduct endangering serious injury, driving in a dangerous manner and other traffic related offences.

He was bailed to appear at the Dandenong Magistrates Court on Wednesday 1 December.
