Online real estate shake up

The days of lining up or camping out to secure in-demand real estate may be coming to an end, with new Australian-first technology revolutionising the off-the-plan property release process.

Newly launched online platform Release.Me gives buyers a fair playing field by shaking up the ‘first come, first served’ model.

The Proptech allows property developers and agents to hold land releases entirely online, using an algorithm to allocate property fairly and equitably.

Increasing demand for off-the-plan real estate means many buyers currently spend weekend after weekend turning up at sales offices, only to miss out on an allocation, while some even camp out for days to be first served.

Recent restrictions have also meant that property developers and agents have been forced to cancel or postpone their release at the last minute.

Release.Me National Manager, Amber Keogh, said buying a home shouldn’t be like buying tickets to a Rolling Stones concert.

“So many buyers are tired of spending their spare time lining up for a piece of prized real estate only to be disappointed,” she said.

“Release.Me gives every buyer the same opportunity to secure a property, from the comfort of their own homes – and offers a fair, transparent and stress-free customer experience.”

The platform doesn’t only benefit buyers: it streamlines the property release process for developers and agents, reducing the time from release to contract signing.

Release.Me takes care of the process from the time the release goes live until contract signing, handling the peak in workload & reducing the cost usually associated with a release.

The Release.Me app collects and collates buyer preference data, providing valuable insights to developers and agents. YourLand Developments has adopted Release.Me as part of their release process, most recently at their Officer Fields community, in Melbourne’s south-east, and Sales Manager Kristian Sartori said it was fairer and easier experience.

“Our customers have told us that Release.Me eased the stress associated with purchasing land and gave them the time to make a well-considered and informed choice,” he said.

“With customers able to select multiple lot preferences, we are provided with information on what buyers are looking for and how we can better cater to their needs.”

Proptech is tipped to be the next boom tech sector following in the footsteps of Fintech, with a sharp rise in start-up entrants across the residential sector leveraging technology to solve challenges for both businesses and consumers.
