Commended for improving on past sexism

Liberal MP Russell Broadbent may have copped flak for refusing to be vaccinated against Covid-19, but it hasn’t been all bad news for the Monash MP.

Mr Broadbent received the ’Good Ernie’ award in the 29th Annual Ernies Awards for Sexism.

While other parliamentarians were dragged over the coals for sexist remarks they made this year, Mr Broadbent’s award was the one commending award, ’for boys behaving better’.

The comment which won him the nod was when Mr Broadbent asked the PM to convene a national gathering of women and that all cabinet submissions, new policies and legislation have a gender impact statement and that politicians “need to be quiet, listen and learn”.
