About Town

Op Shop volunteer Win Reed.

How’s this for service?

Volunteer Win Reed was only asked for a cuppa but pulled out all the stops at the Pakenham Community Op Shop.

CWA sells winter woolies

Colourful and cozy knitted goods were on sale at Pakenham Central Marketplace on Friday 17 June, made by hardworking CWA volunteers.

Pakenham CWA members sold knitted blankets, beanies and toys, created by donated wool and knitted squares from other members of the public.

All proceeds go back into the CWA projects, including their student scholarship program.

The CWA is always looking for new members of all ages.

Fearless leader

Paul Thomas, our fearless leader at Star News Group, proved just that at a photo shoot to flag the return of the Cardinia Casey Biggest Ever Blokes Lunch at Gumbuya World this week.

The good folk at Gumbuya recruited a bit of wildlife for the sake of the cameras, but very few of the blokes charged with the responsibility of pulling the event together were that keen on acquanting themselves with Lily the python.

Up stepped Paul, leading by example, and they had become quite good friends by the end of the shoot.

Feeling hungry?

A Carls Jr restaurant is opening soon in Beaconsfield.

The popular burger joint will be located at 215 Princes Highway, Beaconsfield.
