Truck rollover on Bald Hill Road

A truck transporting chicken feed and a car have collided on Bald Hill Road, Pakenham.

The incident occurred at about 1.10pm near Coop Road on Wednesday 13 July.

Pakenham SES member Shayne Honey said the truck rolled and blocked the road, spilling 27 tonnes of feed.

“The driver of the truck was able to remove himself from the vehicle,” he said.

“The passenger in the car was trapped and Pakenham SES and Nar Nar Goon CFA volunteers used hydraulic tools to release the passenger after about 45 minutes.”

Paramedics attended the scene and a male was airlifted to hospital.

“A man in his 70’s was treated at the scene and airlifted to the Alfred Hospital in a stable condition with upper body injuries,” an Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said.

“A man in his 30’s was taken to Dandenong Hospital for observation with no obvious injuries.”

Victoria Police are investigating the cause of the incident.
