Last Sunday, as part of National Tree Day, the committee of the Bunyip and District Community Market planted some native trees at the Bunyip Recreation Reserve.

The market committee has undertaken a project for the development of a beautification area which is situated adjacent to the west side of the rotunda/barbecue building and will be named The Bunyip and District Community Market Picnic Garden.

Bunyip Community Market president Tony Arrigo said it would be an ideal place for family gatherings, outdoor weddings and a great place for visitors and locals to relax and enjoy the pleasant surroundings as well as boosting the profile of Bunyip and district.

There is great support of this project within the community.

“When completed, the Picnic Garden will be a place to enjoy the outdoors in a pleasant environment with native trees and shrubs and will include a picnic table and seats,” Mr Arrigo said.
