PREMIER

Beaconsfield’s impressive early-season form continued on Saturday with an 18-goal victory agfainst Narre Warren at Kalora Park.

The Magpies did their best to stay in touch at half time by two-goals, but a powerful 33 to 17-goal second half was enough for the Eagles to power away and moves to 2-0.

The usual suspects in Bianca Sanzaro (30 goals) and Danielle Roberts (23) were outstanding for the victors, while the likes of Tanya Mijovic, Rylee Helson and gun centre Ashleigh Gill were consistent throughout.

For the home side, Chloe Phillips (19 goals) did her best to keep her side in the game with a dynamic four-quarter performance.

Olinda Ferny Creek, meanwhile, continue their frightening form to trounce Upwey Tecoma in an extraordinary 91-40 victory.

The Bloods were merciless, opening up a 15-goal lead at quarter time to continue on their merry way.

Peri Stewart was electric to outscore the Tigers herself to finish with 47-goals, and was ably supported by Ashlee Howard and Elly Stewart in attack, who combined for 44 between them.

Berwick also enjoyed a strong weekend, defeating Healesville 43-19 in the Anzac Day clash at Edwin Flack Reserve.

The visitors actually led the game 5-7 at quarter time, but the Wickers clicked into gear, dominating around the court to score 38-12 from the final three quarters.

In the other match in Premier A Grade, Woori Yallock defeated Wandin 64-49.

Cranbourne had the bye.

DIVISION 1

In an excellent four-quarter performance, ROC saw off Pakenham in front of a bumper crowd on Anzac Day at Toomuc Reserve, winning 46-30.

The Kangaroos’ excellent form across the first round continued on with a consistent performance, leading at every change before streaming away late and taking a 2-0 record as a result.

Belgrave were another side to make a statement on Saturday, overcoming a quarter-time deficit to smash Emerald 62-34.

The Maggies were down 13-10 at quarter time, but sparked from a dynamic performance from Naomi Hargreaves (36 goals) in attack, came roaring back with a 20-3 second term.

The Bombers tried hard to fight back in the third quarter, but were ultimately overrun by the visiting side.

Warburton Millgrove, meanwhile, flexed their muscles early and held sway against Doveton to win 55-34.

The Burras took an early eight-goal advantage after a dominant 16-8 opening term, and despite an admirable fight back from the Doves in the second and third terms, were no match for the home side’s class around the court.

Natalia Petrucev, Courtney Lever an d Kirralee Luiyf were absolutely dominant for the victors, while Bianca Daniels scored 34 goals. For the Doves, Cara Humbert, Liz Edwards and Alysha Whiley battled hard.

In the final game of the round, Mt Evelyn held off Monbulk to win 35-27.
