Woori Yallock star Zach Monkhorst and Cranbourne gun Tara Cecil claimed the AFL Outer East’s top honours at Wednesday 18 September’s 2019 Medal Night at the Yarra Valley Racecourse.

The Tigers ruckman – who is one of the sons of former Collingwood big man and Woori Yallock favourite son Damian Monkhorst – produced his most consistent season of senior football to date to claim the Premier Division league best and fairest, playing 17 games to be the most dominant big man in the competition.

Cecil was the night’s biggest winner from a netball perspective, with the Eagles star taking out the Jodi Chandler Medal as the Premier Division A Grade league best and fairest.

The star shone all year for the third-placed Eagles in a variety of roles in an incredible reward for effort. Cecil’s remarkable consistent was on show throughout the season, taking out the medal with a whopping 32 votes to be the runaway winner.
