Cora Lynn Netball Club now has a place to relax and enjoy – and a space to reflect – with the club remembering the life of former player Georgia Larsen who died as a 15-year-old in February 2018.
The Cobras have transformed a regular patch of turf into a beautiful space, with the Georgia Larsen Memorial Garden sure to be a popular place at the Cobradome for many years to come.
Cora Lynn committee-member Emily Brook explains how the garden idea came about.
“As a committee we wanted something to remember Georgia by, and the idea of building a garden in her honour, somewhere we people can sit and enjoy, was something we all agreed upon,” Emily said.
“We planted a tree and laid some turf and put a sandpit in so young kids can enjoy the space as well. There’s also a park bench and a plaque that says that Georgia Larsen will always be in our hearts.”
Georgia’s mum Tracey, and sisters Maddie and Molly, were in attendance on Saturday.
