REVIEW – PREMIER DIVISION (ROUND 9)

Narre Warren enjoyed a dominant day on the court, defeating rivals Cranbourne 55-42 and keeping touch with the top-of-the-table.

The Magpies were at the top of their game, pulling away after an even first half to score 27-18 in the remaining two quarters to bank the important victory.

Although it was a strong all-round performance, Brittany Mashado, Gabrielle Dwyer and Caitlin Stephens were in the best for the home side, while for the Eagles, Chelsea Harris, Alanah Hardy (32 goals) and Tiana Butler battled hard.

Woori Yallock, meanwhile, is on the brink of breaking into the top five after a comfortable 51-35 win against Pakenham.

It was an important win for the Tigers, who are just percentage from breaking into the top five.

And Olinda Ferny Creek banked a 76-49 win against Wandin to continue to be the dominant side of the competition.

The Bloods are two games clear on the top and didn’t look troubled in its 27 goal win.

In the remaining matches, Beaconsfield was far too strong for Upwey Tecoma in the 56-29 victory, while Berwick banked a 52-43 win against Doveton.

DIVISION 1 (ROUND 10)

Emerald and Mount Evelyn played out an absolute thriller, but it was the Bombers that prevailed in a nail-biting 52-51 victory.

It was a vital win for the Bombers who are keeping pace with the top two sides, while for the Rovers a win would have all but ensured they would feature in the finals.

The Bombers held a six goal lead at the final change before the Rovers stormed home with a dominant final term before just falling short.

Jamieson Scott was all class from Wing Defence, Kara Ellis was a rock in defence, while Taylah Grasso was also solid for the victors.

Georgia Marsh and Steph Jones combined for all 51 goals for the Rovers.

ROC’s dominant form continued, meanwhile, with a 59-30 win against Monbulk.

The loss dents the Hawks’ quest to play finals this season, while for the Kangaroos, they remain undefeated and looking ominous.

Ellie Coutts was an absolute standout with 30 goals for the Kangas, while Emily McInnes and Zoe Callanan were dominant across the court.

In the remaining matches, Seville had too much class for Gembrook Cockatoo in the 50-26 win, while Belgrave picked up its first win of the season, defeating Berwick Springs 38-36.

Healesville had the bye.
