DEEP CREEK GOLF

A strong breeze was blowing from early morning to late afternoon at Deep Creek Golf Club on Saturday making scoring difficult on a rapidly improving course that is beginning to provide some run.

In tough conditions there were only four players who could pump their chest out and say they played to their handicaps on Saturday in a clear indication of the challenge.

The best of those players was Scott Irwin (15) who signed off on a great score of 39 points to win the A Grade competition from runner up Peter Norman (8) on 37 points.

Peter’s score translates to a 79 off the stick – a terrific round of golf in the conditions.

Marcus Cameron (19) scored 36 points to win B Grade on a countback from Royce Thompson (22).

Balls down the line went to Les Jones and Neil Atchison on 35 points, Noel Boyd, Dean Jones, Stephen Northcott, Brent Greenwood, Travis Wheeler and Graham Brennan 34, David Bell, Brian Webster, Michael Anlanger, Matt Lloyd and Bryan Clydesdale with 33, and George Wheeler, Dave Nagel and Glenn Rees with 32.
