Florence and Wagner…4-Ball bandits!

DROUIN GOLF CLUB

Saturday’s event was a 4-Ball Aggregate competition.

With 41 pairs teeing up it was a runaway win for Gary Florence and James Wagner, who combined together to score an amazing 83 points.

Runners up were 10 points behind with Shane Dwyer and Joe Kirby scoring 73 points.

Down the lines went to Eric Robbins and John White 72, Wayne Robbins and Steve Bethune 72, Darren McKerrow and John Wise 70 and Nick and Tim Shannon 68.

Nearest the pins went to Darren Arnott 5th, John Roach 8th, David Low 10th and Duart Perrin 14th.

Wednesday

The midweek Stableford Comp last week saw a field of 85 players take to the course.

Good scores were recorded again, with Joel Thomson leading the field and winning C Grade with an amazing 43 points.

A great score of 40 points was needed to win for both A and B Grade with Stephen Mooney claiming A Grade and Neil Wyatt claiming B Grade.

Down the lines went to Angus McArthur 39, Jim Bethune 38, David Sharpe, Richard Sheehan, Mick Whitford, Freddie Roknic and Banjo Vincent 37 and Tony Appleby with 36.

This coming week sees the club host its Annual Tournament with Wednesday Stableford, Thursday a 4BBB, Saturday Stroke and Monday a Mixed Canadian Foursome event.

LADIES

Drouin ladies competed for the Grandmother’s Trophy in an Individual Stableford event on Tuesday April 12.

A Grade winner was Glenda Warren (19) with 36 points on a countback from runner up Anne Neilson (19). B Grade winner was Marg Murray (47) with 38 points and runner up was Dagma Forbes (35) with 37 points.

Down the line balls went to Catriona Ferguson 36 points, and to Jan Stone and Mary Tymensen with 35 points.

The winner of the Grandmother’s trophy, kindly donated by Leanne Pollard, was Dagma Forbes.

Nearest the pins were: 5th and 8th no one, 10th Mildred Lyon and 14th Leanne Pollard.

The winner of the 9-hole competition was Marg Cox with 14 points.

Saturday’s Ladies played a 4BBB Stableford Aggregate event and the winner was Kay Feaver (14) 37 points and Marg Purcell (15) with 34 points who combined for a score of 71 points.

Wednesday begins the Drouin Golf and Country Club Annual Tournament, generously sponsored by Clarks Blinds and Screens, to be held from Wednesday 20 April to Monday 25 April.
