PLAYING Devon Meadows on turf at Cranbourne Racecourse, Merinda Park decided to field first after winning the toss.
After a good start, the Cobras had Devon Meadows 6/131 at tea.
However, then the wickets didn’t fall as quickly after tea with Devon Meadows making 258.
Jess Mathers continued his good form with 3/84 from 25 overs with new Merinda Park allrounder Peter Jessop taking 3/34 from 13 overs.

B GRADE

Taking on KilcundaBass in Bass, the Cobras have already lost the match on first innings after being bowled out for only 78.
Only three batsmen made double figures with Matt Boswell scoring 17, Nick Reed 16 and Scott Kunziak 10 not out.
Kilcunda Bass then declared on 7/137 with Tony Clarke taking 2 for 23 from 6.3 overs and Darren Smith with 2 for 17 from 6 overs.
At stumps, the Cobras were 0 for 0 after 4 overs.

D GRADE

Having been sent in against Clyde, the Cobras were in big trouble at 4/26 in the 10th over.
However, a fifthwicket partnership of 129 between Andrew Syddall, (77) and Shane Dalton (41) helped the Cobras get to a total of 206.
Some good contributions of 16 from John Cuthbertson, 14 from Ron Hughes and 13 from Nathan Beaver also helped the cause.
At stumps, Clyde was 0/11 after 8 overs.

E GRADE

Playing Lang Lang, the Cobras bowled the visitors out for 233 with Matt Pongracic taking 3/26 from 3.3 overs, David Salter had 2/22 from 6 overs and Paul Humphrey with 2/36 from 8 overs.
At stumps the Cobras were in a good position at 1/57 with Robert Strang (24 not out) and Michael McCalman (19 not out).

F GRADE

In a close one, the Cobras just got over the line against Emerald.
Bowling first, Emerald made 4/188 with Dave Field (2 for 24) and a wicket a piece to Steve Burr and Robert Clarke.
An excellent 51 retired from 12yearold Jason Pongracic helped the Cobras get to 5/191 with Jeff Gillespie scoring 31 and another 12yearold Dylan Cuthbertson scoring 17.

UNDER 17

The Cobras got the points against Tooradin with a 24run win.
Tooradin, batting first, made 6/78 with Nathan Beaver taking 2/14 from four overs.
Michael Theodoridis (1/5 from 4 overs) and a runout, with Andrew Martin taking 1/8 from four overs.
Batting, the Cobras made 3/102 with player of the match Michael Theodoridis making 26 retired, Nathan Beaver 26 retired and Matthew Grayson 18 not out.

UNDER 15 RED

In another close one, the Cobras came away with the points after KilcundaBass scored 8/129 and the Cobras did well in the run chase, scoring 8/138.
Tim Shepherdson, in a playerofthematch performance scored 15 retired and had 3/9 from three overs. Stuart Martin picked up 2/8 from three overs and Dylan Compt 1/8 from three overs. Anthony Burr had a good day with the bat scoring 28 and Brad Twyford with 18 not out.

UNDER 15 WHITE

Playing Lang Lang, the Cobras had a great win after scoring 1/130, with Jarrod Armitage (18 retired), Matthew Hughes, David Spencer and Michael Blackburn all making 16 retired with Jason Pongracic and Matthew Pongracic scoring 15 retired.
At the end of play the Cobras had Lang Lang 7/71 with Simon Spencer taking 3/7 from three overs, Matthew Pongracic 3/13 from three overs and Ryan Little 1/13 from three overs.
The Cobras won by 59 runs.

UNDER 13

The Cobras had a big win over Tooradin by 96 runs.
In the field first, the Cobras had Tooradin 6/70. Sakila Tennakoon bowled with accuracy to take 4/1 from two overs.
Josh Prudden picked up 1/2 from two overs and Kiah LaughlinGlen had 1/7 from two overs.
Batting, the Cobras scored 2 for 166 with eight of the eleven players retiring. Robert Reed and Luke Claringbould both scored 18 retired.
Udesha Kalapuge scored 17 retired, Jason Pongracic and Josh Prudden 16 retired with Ryan Little and Sakila Tennakoon both getting 15 retired. Sanan Wimalagunaratna remained 11 not out.

UNDER 11

Playing KilcundaBass at Bass, the Cobras team total was 22 with the opposition making 84.
Fielding was good with Ben Dalton taking a good outfield catch off Kyle Salter’s bowling.
The other wicket to fall was to Lachlan Dalton.
Good bowling included two maiden overs, one from James Jordan and the other from Dinelka Balasuriya.
Some good contributions with the bat came from Brady Boswell (6), Ashleigh Little (5), Kyle Salter (5), Caleb Boswell (9) and James Jordan (8).
