BUILDERS of Victoria’s desalination plant have confirmed they lodged an application with the State Government for potential financial relief after flooding in Kooweerup earlier this year.
Spokesman for Aquasure, John Ridley, said the consortium had given notice that they may make an application on behalf of Theiss Degremont under the contract with the state for relief on the basis of force majeur event due to the flooding.
The contract requires any potential claims be lodged within a certain time.
He dismissed reports that there was litigation being undertaken.
“We are currently assessing the effect of flooding to our pipeline and power,” he said.
