THE 2014 Pakenham Show is on again and there are new exciting changes. Free entry and a new location will mean it will be a different show for many but equally exciting as the show embarks on a new chapter and moves into the heart of Pakenham.
An integral part of the local area for 104 years, the Pakenham Show is a special event which brings people from around our community together. Bring your family and enjoy some great entertainment, meet new friends and renew old acquaintances.
The theme of ‘Multiculturalism and the community’ will add to the huge program of activities and displays that are regular features in the traditional showcase of rural life. With baking, arts and crafts, produce, livestock, contests and of course, the Wally Wombat trail (council has a participating stall as in previous years), there is something for everyone.
As vice-president of the show committee, it will be an honour to be there on the day and open the 104th Pakenham Show with my fellow committeemen and women.
Having been involved in the running of the show for many years, I know that events like this would not be possible without the work of the many volunteers who give so freely of their time and expertise to make it such a great event year after year.
As mayor of Cardinia Shire, I would like to congratulate and thank everyone involved in organising this significant local event and encourage all residents to attend. Cardinia Shire Council is committed to working closely with the Pakenham and District Agricultural and Horticultural Society to ensure this annual show is a success.
I look forward to seeing you there – whether I am dressed as a clown, councillor or on the dunking machine.

Cr Graeme Moore
Mayor, Cardinia Shire Council
