WINTER school holidays will be plenty of fun thanks to a number of Cardinia Shire Council events and activities.
Bookings for the two school holiday programs this July are now open.
These include a children’s program for those aged 12 and under and a teenage program for young people aged 12 to 17.
Cardinia Shire Mayor Graeme Moore said the programs would help parents plan activities during the holidays.
“The children’s and teenage programs offer many fun and safe activities catering for any age,” he said.
“Activities range from a vegetable hunt and active games for young children to an excursion to the Old Melbourne Goal and everything in between.”
Some Cardinia Kids in Action activities include:
*Friday 27 June: Disco pyjama party at Cockatoo Community Hall from 2.30-5.30pm ($5 entry);
*Tuesday 1 July: Vegetable hunt at Kooweerup Community Gardens from 1.30-3.30pm;
*Wednesday 2 July: Making marks and finding stories at Lang Lang Community Centre from 10am-noon and Bunyip and District Community House 2-4pm;
*Thursday 3 July: Songs and stories with puppets at St Luke’s Church, Cockatoo from 10-11am;
* Monday 7 July: Crafts with natural resources at Arena Park, Officer from 10.30am-12.30pm
*Wednesday 9 July: Let’s get moving (for children up to seven years) at Henry’s Family Children’s Centre, Pakenham from 10.30am-12.30pm;
*Thursday 10 July: Marking marks and finding stories at Beaconsfield Community Centre from 10am-noon and Cockatoo Neighbourhood House 2-4pm.
Four school holiday movies will also be screened at 10am on each Wednesday and Friday during the holidays at Cardinia Cultural Centre, with tickets only $3.

The teenage program includes:
*Tuesday 1 July: Pyjama and movie day at My Place from 1.30-3.30pm;
*Wednesday 2 July: Sports day from 10am-2.30pm (multiple pick-up points)
*Thursday 3 July: Clay day at My Place from 1.30-3.30pm;
*Friday 4 July: Excursion to Old Melbourne Goal and museum from 8am-4pm;
*Tuesday 8 July: Wax on, wax off at My Place from 1.30-3.30pm;
*Wednesday 9 July: Scavenger hunt around Pakenham from 10am-2pm (multiple pick-up points);
*Thursday 10 July: Games day at My Place from 1.30-3.30pm;
*Friday 11 July: Excursion to Phillip Island including Penguin Parade from 11.45am-8.30pm.
