RESIDENTS from a Pakenham retirement village proved that not only young people have fun on New Year’s Eve.
Around 150 residents from Cardinia Waters Retirement Village danced the night away in celebration of the fresh year ahead, including Spiderman and a frightening witch.
Former dance competitors Gerry and Margaret DeRuiter were first to take to the floor, parading their ballroom dancing skills, before being joined by a range of other residents who also danced their way into the New Year.Alan Burkitt who described the event as a night of “Village Fun” said the party was in full swing until 1am on 1 January.
