Sounds of summer

EMERALD Lake Park will come alive with the sound of music in February as Cardinia Shire Council hosts the annual Summer Music Series.
Free, family-friendly musical entertainment will be on show at the bandstand, between the cafe and pool, every Sunday afternoon between 12.30pm to 3pm.
Four groups will perform at the bandstand over the month, representing a range of musical genres, including Timespan, Cardinia Civic Concert Band, the Congregational Christian Church of Samoa and The April Maze.
Each week a free drum circle by Positive Music will also encourage visitors to make their own music.
Positive Music brings an array of fun and colourful, vegan and traditional hand drums and small percussion instruments for people to make their own music.
No experience is necessary but enthusiasm is required.
The council will also partner with local radio station 3MDR to include a live outdoor broadcast on Sunday 15.
Shire residents of all ages are encouraged to bring friends, family and a picnic to enjoy the music and the views of one of the shire’s most beautiful parks.
